ELLEN K. LEVY

Ellen K. Levy, an artist, writer, and teacher at Brooklyn College, is currently President of the College Art Association. She has exhibited extensively in the US and abroad. In her art, she visualizes evolutionary links among technological inventions, focusing on the biotech and nuclear industries.

In 1996 she guest edited (with B. Sichel) and contributed to a special issue of the Art Journal 55, (Spring 1996), entitled "Contemporary Art and the Genetic Code." At the time, this topic was little-explored.

She is also the author of "The Genome and Art: Finding Potential in Unlikely Places," in Leonardo 34, 2001.
