2014 Fundraising Campaign

We are soliciting your help to encourage artists from Québec and Canada on the international scene while promoting cultural exchanges

Become an honorary CIAC member for one year

As we recognize your interest in culture, we also appreciate your hope that artists from Québec and from Canada will find their place on the international scene. It is with this in mind that we come to you today, knowing that if we work together, we will accomplish concrete results.

After having created two major events for the city of Montreal: Les Cent jours d’art contemporain de Montréal (1985-1996) and La Biennale de Montréal (1998-2011), the Centre international d’art contemporain de Montréal (Le CIAC) is now turning its attention for the next few years to the advancement of Quebecois and Canadian artists on the international scene, while promoting cultural exchanges within the country.

It is with drive and passion that the Board of Directors, CIAC Director Claude Gosselin and the CIAC staff have agreed to organize events (exhibitions, performances, resident artists, invitations to foreign curators, international co-productions) to increase awareness of Québec and Canada artists through a foreign international network.

In keeping with this objective, we are proud to announce that there has been a first development, i.e., the exhibition of Jocelyne Alloucherie, Climats, at the Times Art Museum, in Beijing, from March 8th to 21st, 2014.  This certainly bears witness to our will and determination. Other projects are in the pipeline and should be finalized for the period 2014 to 2017.

It is for these projects that we are seeking your financial support. A donation of one hundred dollars ($100) will be significant for us and will provide you with a one-year honorary membership to the CIAC. Moreover, each $100 donation will give you a chance to win one of Jocelyne Alloucherie’s works valued at $1,500 (see reverse side). A tax receipt will be issued in the amount of your donation.

The Board of Directors joins me in thanking you for the attention you will pay this matter and we hope that you will soon be counted amongst our partners.

M. Claude Gosselin, C.M, M. Raymond Grenier, M. Thomas Marcantonio, Mme Sophie Dynbort, M. Adrew Lui, M. Gilles Mihalcean, M. Nick Tedeschi
