These works take a questioning, critical look at the nature of exchanges on the Internet and are particularly concerned with phenomena generated by electronic mail and discussion groups. The projects usually stage conversations between two or more people. Visitors keep to the background, while observing and judging the interchange. The art works constitute an analysis of the conversations that have occurred or that could occur on the network, providing a portrait of these kinds of exchanges while aiming to reveal various aspects of their operation. They thus make manifest the possibilities and the limitations of such interactions.
