The theme of our first selection is Intimacy and Interactivity (between you and me). It is concerned with that one-to-one rapport so characteristic of the user's experience with the computer, a private experience that extends and opens to others thanks to the interactive potential and accessibility provided by the Internet. Many Web works turn to the phenomena brought about by the possibilities of expression and communica-tion on the Internet. For instance, personal home pages, e-mail, discussion groups, visual exchange (CUSeeMe), demonstrate this desire for self-manifestation and exteriorization, for existing for and with the other. The selected works were grouped into five sub-themes: : trust/confidence, confession, secrets/revelations, exchange/conversation, voyeurism/exhibitionism.
