The Automatist movement in visual art in Quebec (Canada) would not have had the significance it did without the contribution of Paul-Émile Borduas. To commemorate the work and thought of this master, we have created THE PAUL-ÉMILE BORDUAS COLLECTION on the CIAC website.
This collection has been created in collaboration with several partners. It will serve as a platform for publishing new texts on the artist and his works, as well as a hub for essential resources on Borduas (websites, publications, archives, etc.). In short, it is a central resource for information on Paul-Émile Borduas. We invite our readers to submit texts or ideas for development to help deepen our understanding of the work and life of Paul-Émile Borduas. Please feel free to contact me: claude.gosselin@ciac.ca.
The creation of this project entails certain costs: author fees, webmaster expenses, translation costs (the site is in French and English), text editing fees, royalties to artists for the use of their works, administrative costs, etc.
We are seeking donations for this project. Tax-deductible receipts are available for donations of $25 or more (CIAC, Canada: 10089 0920 RR00010). Donors’ names will be published on the PAUL-ÉMILE BORDUAS FUND website, with their consent.
We are making a special appeal to collectors, gallery owners, art professors and historians, curators, and independent researchers.
The PAUL-ÉMILE BORDUAS FUND was established thanks to an initial donation from Mr. Yvon Brind’Amour to the Centre international d’art contemporain de Montréal.
Thank you.
